Meet 14- year-old Keaton Kiddo Pedro, who has interests in soccer and listening to rap music. This past August, Pedro was diagnosed with Juvenile Pilocytic Astrocytoma, a brain tumor that is slow-growing and develops anywhere in the cerebellum (back of the brain) and spinal cord.
Despite his diagnosis, Pedro has fortunately continued to be active in his education and is attending in-person schooling. Adjusting to the changes that take place with a childhood cancer diagnosis, Pedro’s family has been a huge support system for him during this time. His mom takes him to his weekly treatments and does whatever she can to ensure that he and his younger brother are well and remain a strong family unit.
While Pedro is staying strong during this time, Keaton’s team had the honor of creating a personalized Hope Chest for this resilient Kiddo and his younger brother. Following the delivery, Pedro’s mom shared a sweet message with a member of our Family Navigator Team: “Thank you for caring! It means a lot to us! God bless your team!”.
