Keaton’s Child Cancer Alliance

John McLean Hero Award

John McLean was a dear friend and long-time supporter of our cause. When John lost his battle with cancer in February 2012, we created the “John McLean Hero Award” in his honor.  John’s faith, dedication to family and compassionate spirit were gifts to all who knew him. His legacy lives through his generous donation to support youth in their academic goals.

Each Spring, high school and college students are encouraged to submit their 1,000 word written response to the prompt,  “Describe the ways in which your life has been impacted by childhood cancer.” Patients, survivors, and siblings have a chance to win up to a $500 scholarship.

This year’s application deadline is Friday, April 19th.  For more information, please click here.  Awards are presented at our annual “Chipping Away at Childhood Cancer” Golf Tournament®.
