Our summer Interns, Jasmine and Angelina, are here and are already making an impact by connecting with families. Hosting interns is such a valued part of Keaton’s Child Cancer Alliance. They bring an array of knowledge, energy and enthusiasm to the team. As the number of local families with a child battling cancer continues to rise, having interns provides the opportunity to connect more with families. Please welcome them to the team!
Jasmine is a senior at Sacramento State, majoring in Social Work. Her goal is to obtain a Master’s Degree in Social Work and become a Pediatric Oncology Social Worker. “I chose this internship because I really enjoy working with kids and admire what KCCA represents. Not only do they advocate for the kids, but also provide support to the entire family. All of the staff cares so deeply about what they do and create such a positive impact in the families lives. The entire organization is so inspirational and I am thankful for the opportunity to be a part of the team this summer!”
Angelina, a graduate from Sacramento City College, is currently pursuing her Bachelors in Social Work at Sacramento State University. “I chose to do my internship at KCCA because I love and appreciate their mission and the population Keaton’s serves. After, my baby brother came into my life, I cherish family even more and having him in my life and watching him grow is such a blessing. He is a handful sometimes but seeing him run and laugh is something I wouldn’t trade for the world.
As I continue my journey here I have felt and witness how involved and passionate they are (KCCA team) about what they do and that motivates me. I hope to continue to grow and learn as much as I can. I enjoy working with families and being involved in any way I can. Keaton’s has been an exciting opportunity for me and for that I am grateful.”
The entire Keaton’s Child Cancer Alliance team is pleased to have these wonderful interns for the summer. They have already begun working with families and are making a difference. Welcome!
